Seth Brundle is on the verge of a breakthrough: he’s starting to date science reporter Veronica Quaife, he’s almost got his telepods working without issue, and Veronica is going to publish a major story about his invention. There’s just one problem: a fly got into his telepod when he teleported himself, and their DNA has fused. And now, Seth Brundle is transforming into something strange… something beyond his control. Cronenberg’s classic is one of the essential body horror films, packed with gruesome Oscar-winning makeup and effects, but at its heart, it’s a tragic romance about irreconcilable change. After all, who among us queer people CAN’T relate to body anxiety seeping into our interpersonal relationships???
When brilliant, eccentric scientist Seth Brundle makes a huge technological breakthrough in teleportation, he decides to test it on himself. Unbeknownst to him, a common housefly manages to get inside the device and the two become one.
