Showtimes for Silver Screamers
The Age-Friendly University (AFU) of Minnesota Council invites our community to a special screening of the internationally acclaimed documentary, Silver Screamers.
Silver Screamers is a heartwarming film following a group of older adults defying stereotypes to make a low-budget horror movie. Led by a local filmmaker, they navigate the challenges of low-budget movie-making with humor, heart, and resilience. Along the way, they discover newfound confidence, forge meaningful friendships, and prove that creativity knows no age. Silver Screamers is a joyful celebration of second acts and fearless reinvention.
Following the screening, join us for an exclusive Q&A session with the film’s director, Sean Cisterna, and other local film experts and enthusiasts. Together, we will use the film as a catalyst to discuss healthy aging, lifelong social engagement, and how we can reshape societal assumptions about what older adults are capable of when given the right space, support, and opportunity.
