Iranoff, Buljanoff and Kopalski are three bumbling Soviet agents in Paris, hoping to sell jewels their government confiscated from the aristocracy during the revolution. One problem: these three fools have fallen in love with the high life, embracing capitalism with both arms. Enter Ninotchka (Greta Garbo), the most Soviet of Soviet envoys, dressed in drab gray, loathing the West, eager to fund the revolution and head back to the fight. But there she meets the dashing, cunning, and charming Count Léon d'Algout (Mervyn Douglas), who sweeps her off her feet… and makes her laugh.
